Black Hills Industrial Technology Award

During the May 2008 Black Hills Community Economic Development Center banquet, C-Lock Technology, Inc. was awarded the Black Hills Industrial Technology Award. The Black Hills Industrial Technology Award is a Black Hills Community Economic Development (BHCED) award given to outstanding innovative companies in the region that have excelled in the use of applying technology to achieve their broader business goals. This is one of four awards given annually to businesses and entrepreneurs in Western South Dakota for outstanding achievement in business excellence. The award was presented to Dr. Patrick Zimmerman and C-Lock Technology by John Brown II, the District Director of the Small Business Administration for Western South Dakota who works in cooperation with the BHCED.

C-Lock Technology is based in the Black Hills Business Development Center's accelerator facility near the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology where it is in a unique position to utilize the expertise of the faculty and resources of the students. C-Lock Technology was nominated for the Black Hills Industrial Technology Award by Jim Mirehouse, CEO of the Black Hills Business Development Center.

C-Lock Technology addresses climate change stemming from greenhouse gas emissions through the GreenCert™ system. GreenCert™ is a web-based greenhouse gas accounting and marketing tool which enables users to identify, quantify, certify, and package emission reduction credits for both sellers and buyers. The methodology behind the C-Lock system is transparent, reproducible, verifiable, and has been peer reviewed and vetted. GreenCert™ provides uniform emission reduction units that are scientifically-based and cost-effective.
