C-Lock™ Energy is a web-based carbon accounting and marketing tool. It allows energy producers to quantify and verify CO₂ emissions from power plants. C-Lock will also provide producers with feedback to determine how best to reduce CO₂ emission through efficiency improvements and management practices. C-Lock will track plant performance with the improvements and provide the producers with carbon emission reduction offsets. C-Lock will aggregate carbon emission reduction offsets for individual producers into units that can be efficiently marketed. C-Lock has been designed to serve as an interface to link power producers, carbon science and policy, and those who wish to purchase carbon emission reduction offsets. C-Lock produces C-Lock certified carbon emission reduction credits (CCERs) that are transparent, validated, and readily verifiable by an independent third-party. C-Lock is also continuing to develop other potential market opportunities for GHG quantification and mitigation strategies in clean coal technology, coal bed methane, renewable energy sources and carbon capture and storage.
