With this unique suite of GHG information management tools, C-Lock is able to serve the expanding carbon markets in numerous vertical and horizontal sectors. At the core is the IBM’s SOA (service-oriented architecture) designed around an Enterprise Service Bus, which allows: a) efficient and sophisticated data processing and storage, b) data structuring to establish baselines and BAU (business-as-usual scenarios) for GHG emissions, and c) execution of one or more large-scale mathematical models to perform the C-Lock™ patented uncertainty analysis. This core represents 80 percent of the GreenCert™ tool.

The GreenCert™ tool can be flexibly and efficiently customized to collect data through industry-specific and situation-specific modules. Such modules (representing 20 percent of the system) incorporate information pertaining to: a) relevant scientific (physical, chemical, and biological) relationships and data, b) relevant GHG standards and regulations, and c) relevant industry and sector information. These modules, designed to incorporate inputs from extensive public and private databases, are critical to the establishment of appropriate and specific baselines and BAU (business-as-usual scenarios) for GHG measurements.
